Yes, I have done multiple years of traditional weightlifting.
Intermittently,
I have been training pole dancing for years.
I have also been exploring with different aerial apparatus such as silks and lyra.
As a nature lover,
I am an avid stand-up paddle enthusiast, as well as a hiker.
And no, it is not "good genes". Much the contrary.
Between obesity history running deep in my family history, and years of depression, this has been quite a long journey.
A journey of self love and discovery.
A journey way bigger than appearances but of wellbeing: physical and emotional.
Through the many years that took me to get from the two pictures here, I was constantly evolving. I still am.
Yes, I wanted to lose weight but I learned that it is more important than that.
I work out to feel good. I strive to be able to move freely and with confidence.
I want to be able bodied and do cool things.
I know that the more mobile I get, the more fun I can have.
The freer I can be.
The higher will be my quality of life.
I desire to be mobile and able bodied for as long as I can. I exercise to keep having fun and feeling good until I am very old. What about you?
Healthy does not look the same for everyone. Fitness is not one type fits all. My goal is to help you figure out what moves keep you going.
I strongly believe that if I do not enjoy doing something, I should not waste my time doing it. I know for a fact that if someone does not like weight lifting, even if they do it for a while, it will not be a sustained practice.
The key to progress is consistency; therefore, an individual must find an activity and diet that they enjoy so that they can keep on doing it. Your fitness practices must be in agreement to your lifestyle, otherwise, it will be a fad.
If you want to lose weight, I can help you. If you want to get strong, I can help you. If you want to look fit, I can help you. Most of all, if you want to find what healthy lifestyle suits you, I can help you.
